OLD BUSINESS:
Outstanding Student Banquet set for March 30th at T&D. Karen inquired about the time of the event. It starts at 6:30. Dale inquired about number of students being honored. Someone thought up to 40 but not sure. Standards have changed may be more students than in the past. Karen indicated someone from the school makes the selections. Ashley explained some criteria. It is a recognition dinner only and there is no monetary award to the students. Find out actual selection criteria. Actual number was 6. Ashley stated there would not be a Chamber meeting prior to the event as done in years past.
New Business:
Someone is still urgently needed to run the Rummage Sale. A volunteer is needed. Per Ashley there is a spreadsheet available which clearly organizes responsibilities. Coleen Dionne is the contact person if interested. Karen will post to Blue Spring site and Kim will post to Bank sign. Michelle will see if it is posted with the Village. Mary suggested a sign for events be made for main intersection in town. Dale added creating a banner for the Rummage Sale would be $300-$400.
Ashley started discussion for Planning the Car Show. Ashley and Alissa suggested Mike Temple for the DJ as new DJ is needed. Chamber will reach out to Roger and Carrie Igielski regarding having them gather door prizes again this year. Kim, Ashley and Karen said they would look into getting raffle items. Dale said the Chamber could possibly use the Legion sound system for the Car Show. Karen also indicated that the Ski Club had a sound system. Kim said she has Spotify account for music.
The website was briefly discussed. It is not coming up in some .com searches. Michelle indicated that website optimization would help with this but can be quite costly. No decision was made. Michelle will check into how to delete the old Chamber Facebook page that is no longer in use.
Dale said the Legion is doing Memory Bows with the Christmas lights this year.
